Welcome to Destination Lyon. You registered for this online course because you are about to start your semester at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3. This course will give you all the information needed for your future life in Lyon, as well as a specific preparation to French language.

The course is made up of 10 sessions, to which you have free access. You can follow the sessions in the order of your preference. Some sessions, such as Visa and Residence Permit, are only dedicated to students who need them. You can start the course before your arrival in Lyon, as it will help you in your search for an accommodation. I advise you to follow the first 5 sessions before leaving your home country, to find out more about the procedures, required documents for your stay and French organizations.

The sessions on “tips”, the university, life in Lyon and tourism can help you in your everyday life once you have settled in.

Videos from French and foreign students will help you to better plan your life in Lyon. The students who were interviewed share their experiences with you.
Each video is followed by a transcript. You can read it while listening to the video to help you better understand it, or after viewing it, depending on your level and needs. Students with a beginner level who still want to access this information, can translate the text using an automatic translator.

The videos are followed by self-corrective exercises. To access them, press the black "faire le test" button to start the activity, and press the black button again after selecting the correct answer, to submit it. You can see whether or not your answer is correct, and you can redo the exercise.

The course also contains links to useful websites. Obviously, you are used to looking for information online. But searching in French can sometimes turn out difficult, and you need to know on which websites to search. This is also the aim of the platform.

Two sessions are dedicated to discovering Université Lyon 3. The first one helps you discover the campus and its services; the second one presents student life on campus.

The session dedicated to visits in Lyon invites you to explore and discover the city through suggested tours. So, put on your shoes and discover the beauty of this city.

Exercises and interactive maps will help you find your way around.
